Congratulations to the Junior A Canoe Polo team, who are national junior champions following the NZSS tournament last weekend.

The juniors started on Friday with an 8-1 win against St John's College, followed by a 15-4 win against Freyberg High School and a 9-1 win against Napier Boys' High School Junior B on Saturday. This saw the boys qualify for the semi-final game and a possible spot in the finals. Sunday came around and a solid win against Karamu High School saw the boys through into the finals later that day.

The final was against Napier Boys' High School Junior A. A turbulent first half saw Napier behind by one point at half time. The PNBHS boys came through strongly in the second half to blitz Napier 7-3 and secure first place, remaining undefeated throughout both the regional qualifying tournament and national finals - testament to their hard work and commitment. In the last year these young men have gone from the bottom of the division to undefeated through the tutelage of old boy Troy Huffman-Devey. It was fantastic to see the character and humility displayed by these young men. The team consisted of Steffan Van Uffelen (Captain), Damon Dickons, Alex Anderson, Emmett Skinner-Vennell, Cameron Gemmell and Jacob Cane.
