Playing in the final of the CD qualifying Quad, Boys' High won the toss and chose to bat on a fresh pitch. After a dashing start, 2 wickets fell before Rishabh De and Bryn Wilson rebuilt the innings with a 116 run partnership. With Rishabh making 63 and Bryn 66, other batsmen were able to chip in to take the team to 188 for 9 off 50 overs.

Two early wickets saw the 1st XI on top as they starved the Nelson batsmen of runs. This saw a period of rebuilding from the opposition but 2 further wickets in 2 overs set them back again. To Nelson's credit, they fought hard all the way through but PNBHS managed to chip away, taking wickets at regular intervals and leaving them requiring 17 runs from the last over. This pressure translated into a run out and saw them all out for 172 with 3 balls to go. Rishabh De took 2 for 34 and Thomas Kirk 2 for 25 but every bowler took a wicket and there were 2 run outs as PNBHS put in another complete performance in the field.

The PNBHS 1st XI is now the Central District Champion and will represent CD at the NZSS Boys' 1st XI Cup Finals in Christchurch in December.  At assembly this morning, captain Bryn Wilson was presented with the cup won by the 1st XI as Central Districts Secondary Schools Champions.
