CHANGE OF DATE FOR ROAD RACE
Because of the bad weather forecast for tomorrow the Road Race will now take place on Friday, 13 April. School will take place as per usual tomorrow Tuesday, 10 April.
On Friday 13 April, all students are expected to compete in the race unless they have a genuine medical reason, accompanied by a note to the Deputy Rector.
If your son is a bus student, he will be transported to Ongley Park and back to school. Juniors who run in the first race (U14 as at 1 January) will be transported by bus to Ongley Park unless they are being taken by a parent/caregiver or are biking. They are not permitted to walk as they will not get to the park on time for their race which commences at 12.10pm. Please note that they will not be transported back to school by bus unless they are a bus student.
All other students are expected to make their own way to Ongley Park along the designated route (supervised by staff) and they can leave for home directly from Ongley Park at the conclusion of the day.
We would ask that you please remind your son to bring his lunch and a good amount of drink. The PTA is running a sausage sizzle (cash only) as a fundraiser but this will be the only opportunity to purchase food at the venue.
We would also appreciate if you would please impress on your son the need to bring his club uniform, appropriate running shoes (for the road), white socks, sunblock and a sun hat (optional). In the event that the weather may be cold he should also pack in his bag his school jersey and/or rain jacket.
