Junior and Senior Debating

Thursday 12 April

On Thursday 12 April during Period 5, the PNBHS Junior Debating 'True Fictions' team of Fahim Masud, Vikash Patel and Flynn Underwood faced a St Peter's team to debate "Social Media does more harm than good." It was a close debate, however the PNBHS team were victorious as they gave a strong argument that the loss of one life by suicide through cyber bullying is far more harmful than 1,000 likes or feel good stories on Facebook. John Cole and Andrew Karatea did a magnificent job of adjudicating and chairing the debate and we thank them for their assistance.

The PNBHS Senior Debating 'United Contrarians' team faced St Peter's 1  also to debate the moot that the house believes that Social Media is harmful. The 'United Contrarians' successfully argued against the moot and won the debate. Congratulations to Callum Whitley for 'Best Speaker' and his teammates Ben Can and Krit Sitkrongvong.
