North Island Secondary School Swimming Championships

On Saturday 12 May, 15 swimmers from Palmerston North Boys’ High School competed at the North Island Secondary Swimming Championships held at Freyberg Pool. With 232 swimmers overall competing, the level of competition was high.

Ryan Cutler was the only swimmer to win an event, taking out the 15 and Over 200m Backstroke. To this, he added 2nd place in both the 100m and 50m Backstroke. In the 50m Backstroke, he broke his recently set school record by more than half a second.

Kokoro Frost gained 2nd place in the 15 and Over 200m Butterfly and 3rd place in the 50m Backstroke. In addition, he shaved 0.01 of a second from the PNBHS 15 Year Old Boys' 50m Freestyle record.

Michan Hunter gained a 3rd placing in the 15 and Over 50m Butterfly.

The Senior relay team performed admirably in both the 4x50m Freestyle relay as well as the 4x50m Medley relay, gaining 2nd place in both events.
