Five of our Renaissance Men spent a day at Waikato University Open Day on Friday 18 May. The focus of the group was a mix of engineering, business and geography/earth sciences. However, they were offered much Niger besides. They students were exposed to a wide variety of disciplines as well as excellent workshops on how to structure undergraduate study for the best employment outcomes as well as post graduate opportunities. Our students found the workshops on scholarships, their availability and the application process very helpful as well. Students were given a comprehensive tour of the campus as well as the halls of residence and came away very impressed with what the Waikato has to offer. Certainly, from a teacher's perspective, as far as University Open Day's go, Waikato University provided an outstanding and well thought out programme.
Students attending were: Wade Bennett, Rishabh De, Ethan Dodds, Jarod Govers, Kaleb idemaru, Campbell Stevens
