Congratulations to Jackson Rooney (right in the photograph below) and Riley Jack (left), who competed at the KartSport New Zealand Furnware National Schools' Championships meeting at Hastings during the recent school holidays, where they finished third in the New Zealand Secondary Schools competition.

Jackson achieved highly in individual events, finishing first in the Rotax Max Junior competition and second in the Vortex ROK DVS Junior.

Jackson also won the Bruce McLaren KartSport Award, presented in association with the Bruce McLaren Trust.  “Each year two awards are offered and go to the winners of (in this year’s case) the Rotax Max Junior and new Vortex ROK DVS Junior classes at the event – but only after each driver produces and presents a project at their school on the career, achievements and values demonstrated by the driver the award honours, New Zealand racing great Bruce McLaren.”

Jackson’s success also means that he earned entry to this year’s ROK Cup International meeting in Italy.  We wish him all the best as he prepares for this prestigious event.
