On Thursday 26th and Friday 27th July, the Music Department set off on their traditional Roadshow around the region, visiting primary schools and promoting the passion of their music. On Thursday, the schools we visited were Somerset Crescent, Cloverlea, Hokowhitu and St James Catholic School. Friday was the turn of the regions, starting off with Hiwinui, then onto Whakarongo, Colyton School and finishing with Ashhurst School. The groups involved were the Concert Band, Drum Squad, the string trio No Frets, Sax quartet Sax Attack, and finishing the concerts with OK Chorale and Stage Band. Over two days, the boys played to 2,500 primary school children and it was an enjoyable and rewarding couple of days.
