Manawatu Science and Technology Fair

The Manawatu Science and Technology Fair was held on the 3rd of August. PNBHS entered four projects and three of them were prize winners. Finn Martin and Junius Ong’s project on the effect of temperature on the Vitamin C content in Vitafresh won 1st place in both the NZIC and NZIFST Awards and a Massey Distinction Prize. Nicholas Slegers and Max Edward’s project on the effect of cooking time on the glucose content in potatoes won the Fonterra Science and Technology Youth Award and a Massey Distinction Prize. Christopher Dewhurst’s project on the effect of cooking time on the starch content in rice won an NZIC Highly Commended Award and a Massey Distinction Prize. Overall, it was a successful result for the school and reflects on the hard work these boys put into their projects. Well done to the students involved.
