3rd XI Cricket Report
The 3rd XI got their season underway against Old Boys. Viliami Vakapuna won the toss and chose to bowl, with Old Boys 23-5 this looked like a great decision. A solid partnership put some pressure on the 3rds but a good comeback with several good catches had them bowled out for 131 in 36.5 overs. Wade McNabb 3-19, Viliami Vakapuna 2-23 and Jonty Fleck 2-26. In reply, the 3rds made a solid start with a 53 run opening partnership. The batsmen played with positive intent running well between the wickets to make 132-4 in 30 overs. A win to the 3rds by 6 wickets with 10 overs to spare. Charlie Justice 31, Lachie Bradford 22 and year 9 Jaiden Meyer 15not out. A very pleasing start to the season.
