2nd XI Cricket v Wellington College
Monday 18 February
The 2nd XI played Wellington College on Monday and were required to bowl first in ideal batting conditions. The bowlers toiled hard in the heat but the inconsistent line and length from the bowlers allowed the opposition to get off to a strong start. A number of drop catches and missed stumping opportunities didn't help the teams cause as the opposition scored an imposing 281 for 4 off their 50 overs. Lachie Bradford was the pick of the bowlers with 3 for 48 off his 10 overs.
With such a large target to chase down, the 2nd XI wilted under the pressure. The top order worked hard but failed to push on once they had gotten themselves in. Wellington College were able quickly knock the tail over and bowled the 2nd XI out for 110 in the 41st over. Logan Love top scored with 24 runs on his return to cricket following an injury layoff.
