Softball
Week 3 of Softball saw the Senior Team facing off against a strong Manukura team. Missing a few starting players from previous weeks, the game got off to a slow start and the team found themselves down 2 – 1 at the bottom of the third. The boys then regained focus and put together a strong inning and took the lead 9 – 2. At the bottom of the 4th, a strong pitching performance saw the score remain with the Senior team not requiring to bat for another win.
The development team was promoted to the senior competition and faced Hato Poara seniors. In what was an exciting game saw PNBHS get 2 home at the top of the first after a strong effort in the field had kept HP to 1. The second inning saw HP being unable to add to their score with our lads adding another 3. In the bottom of the 3rd HP managed to get 4 home and PNBHS another 2 with the score at 6 -5 PNBHS. In the bottom of the 4th, HP snuck another run and were out with the scores tied at 6-6 heading into the top of the 4th. Some good pitching saw this score remain and a tie resulted. A great first up senior game for the development team in which stealing bases was a feature.
