Last night saw the two Palmy Boys’ softball teams go toe to toe. With the development team batting in the top of the inning, they looked to apply early pressure and got players on base but were unable to convert into runs. This saw the A team into bat, with 3 players crossing home plate before returning to the field. A stronger second at-bat for the development team, saw 5 players cross home plate and take an unlikely lead at 5-3 and with a good second fielding effort had the game level at 5 – 5 after 2 innings.

The third inning was definitely one for the pitchers with Jacahn Roberts keeping the development team scoreless and Kalani Grant restricting the A team to a solitary run. Into the top of the fourth inning and some good hitting from the development team saw many players on base and 3 players home, taking the lead at 8 – 6 going into the bottom of the inning. The A team were able to get players on base and used their experience to get players home and secure a hard-fought win 10-8.
