Re: An Open Discussion with Our Student Support Team
We would like to extend an invitation to parents to attend an Open Discussion with Our Student Support Team on Tuesday, March 26 at 7.00pm in the Speirs Centre. This event will be an opportunity to join a conversation with experienced members of our Student Support Team, including the Guidance Counsellors Mr. Paul Pottinger and Mr. Steve Dawson and RTLB Liaison, Mr. Phil Hann, as they examine some of the issues confronting teenagers today.
The staff present will share their experiences and provide some suggestions to parents in terms of how they might respond in particular situations. The evening is intended to provide information for parents so that they can work with their sons proactively, rather than waiting until there are ‘problems’ that need to be resolved.
If there is a particular question that you have, or a topic that you would like discussed at this evening, please complete the form at the link here (ctrl + click or copy and paste into your web browser): https://goo.gl/forms/H6jUNgEXakX3ecME2 Please note that the submission of this form is completely anonymous and no identifying information will be recorded. We will endeavour to address all questions and topics put to us. However, this may not be possible depending upon the level of interest in the event.
There is no cost to attend this event. Please see the attached flyer for further information.
Working with young men is incredibly rewarding. However, we also recognise that at times it can be extremely challenging as they negotiate the pathway from boyhood to manhood. We hope that the Open Discussion with Our Student Support Team will be of benefit to parents as we work in partnership to Develop Educated Men of Outstanding Character.
