This morning we welcomed Mr Lauridsen and the Stage Band to assembly before they will departed for a brief tour of Australia where they will compete at the “Generations in Jazz” festival at Mount Gambier.  They will be among 6,000 musicians who will perform over three days.

They will also exchange with St Kevins College in Melbourne and take part in workshops at Monash University.  This should be an eye opening and inspirational opportunity.

Huge thanks must go to Mr Lauridsen and Mrs Dearlove for their preparation and organisation for this trip and the groups many activities.

The Stage Band is a very important window into the school and has a prominent community profile due to the number of performances they do for a number of charitable and other events.  This profile will be enhanced internationally as ABC is covering the Stage Band’s trip and performance at Generations of Jazz.

It is a significant undertaking to be a member of Stage Band and it is my pleasure to present the group with music ties in recognition of their commitment to excellence and for being outstanding ambassadors for PNBHS.

Ciaran Carroll and Joe Inman already have ties due to their selection in national groups.
