Congratulations to Year 11 student Damon Meehan, who won Gold in the under 57kg junior division at the Central North Island Golden Gloves in Taupo over the weekend. In the final Damon defeated an opponent who had recently beaten him, so the result was a good reflection of the hard work that he has put in during the lead up to the Golden Gloves. As a result of his win, Damon has been selected as part of a team to compete in Australia at the Australian Golden Gloves Championships later in the year.
