Year 13 student Liam Frost has recently returned from international canoe polo competitions in Europe and has provided this brief report:

"I was selected in the U21 Men’s Worlds Development Team to the Junior International Canoe Polo competition in Ireland and also played in the Open Men’s division at the De Paddle competition in Belgium in August. This was a wonderful opportunity to experience what is involved in an international tournament.

In the Junior Competition, games were hard fought, playing against teams from many different countries including: Netherlands, Ireland, Malaysia, Spain.  Playing together well, the Kiwi team were proud to place 1st in the U21 Men’s division.

In Belgium the competition was a great learning experience as the team was placed in the Open Men’s division, with some challenging weather for all. Despite this they won 1 game and drew 2 games.

A great experience to learn what canoe polo is like outside New Zealand and to develop further as a player."
