After comfortably topping their half of the draw, the Junior A Water Polo team played the final of the Wellington Junior Secondary Schools Competition against Rongotai College last night. As had been the case in pool play, from the outset the Junior A team was simply in a different class to their opposition. Jacob Booth was dominating at centre forward and Liam Edmunds had the defensive end of the pool well covered. The gap in quality between the teams was clearly evident as the Junior A team built a 6-0 1st quarter lead. This lead became 10-2 at halftime and the team never really looked back. The final 19-6 score-line show just how dominant the Junior A team has been this season. Main goal scorers: Alex Odom 5, Jacob Booth and Mario Moody 4 each.
The team now looks forward to performing at the Junior North Island Secondary Schools Championship in Auckland late next week
