PNBHS 1st XI vs Feilding CC – 01/02/20 – Day 1 of 2
Captain Thomas Kirk won the toss and asked Feilding to bat. This decision was vindicated as they were soon 3 down for 30 runs. Thereafter followed a good partnership, but either side of the lunch break, a flurry of wickets had the opposition floundering on 113 for 9. The 1st XI was then frustrated as they struggled to break a 55 run 10th wicket partnership which hung around for 20 overs. This was eventually ended by a run out to close the Feilding innings on 158 all out. Hunter Morrison took 2 for 12 and Angus Lyver had several very good LBW appeals turned down to get 3 for 27.
The PNBHS inning started slowly, with the LBW quota soon being added to as 2 of the top 3 fell to this mode of dismissal. The rest of the top and middle order did not do themselves any favours, though, as they contrived to get themselves out with injudicious running and shot making. PNBHS finished the day on 77 for 6 with a lot to do on day 2. Jaiden Meyer made 22.
