1st XI Football v Kapiti College - Wednesday 24 June
PlaceMakers PNBHS 1st XI played Kapiti College, winning 10 – 1. Boys’ High started poorly, with several defensive errors allowing Kapiti College to dominate. Consequently, Kapiti College were rewarded with an early goal, and should have gone 2 nil up when their striker was clearly fouled in the box.
Boys’ High recovered well when captain Mason Charlton steadied the ship with a nice strike which beat the Kapiti keeper. Soon after, Joey Thomas and Ben Mori found the back of the net to put Boys’ High up 3 – 1, into the break.
In the second half, with the breeze, it was all one-way-traffic for Boys’ High who dominated a young Kapiti College team, scoring 7 unanswered goals. The second half goals were scored by Ryan Watson, Jaiden Meyer, Jacob Riley (2), Joey Thomas (2) and Mason Charlton. Of note, all members of the team played well, with Joey Thomas and Daniel McDougall having very solid performances.
The 1st XI would like to thank our team sponsors: PlaceMakers Palmerston North and JG Residential.
