1st XI Hockey v Cornerstone Christian School

The PNBHS 1st XI Hockey team played Cornerstone Christian School on a freezing Wednesday evening. This match was the first competition game of the Intercity Division One Secondary School Competition.

The match started in a typical fashion, with both teams finding their rhythm on the field. Finn O'Malley broke the deadlock with a goal shortly before the quarter break.

As the match opened up, PNBHS became the dominant team, stringing together some excellent passing and managing numerous shots on goal. Blake Rhodes-Robinson and Finn O'Malley scored before half time, making it three-nil at half-time.

In the second half, PNBHS wanted to maintain momentum and keep the pressure on Cornerstone. The 1st XI wore down the Cornerstone defence, resulting in four goals in the third quarter to Blake Rhodes-Robinson x 2 (hat-trick), Connor Managh, and Macca Williams.

No further goals were scored in the fourth quarter. This 7-0 win was a pleasing performance for PNBHS. Finn O'Malley had an excellent game with a man of the match performance.

The 1st XI plays Marton on Saturday at 1.45 pm at the Twin Turfs.
