1st XI Football v Takaro AFC

PlaceMakers PNBHS 1st XI played Takaro AFC, winning 5 – 2.  Boys’ High started poorly, gifting a very competitive Takaro side the early lead, from a defensive error.  Fortunately, Jaiden Meyer struck back to equalise, which gave the team some direction and confidence.  Takaro then replied with another goal which seemed to spark Boys’ High into action.  After stringing some passes together, Ben Mori was able to find the back of the net, quickly followed by Thomas Bell.  The resultant score was 3 - 2 in favour of Boys’ High.

After halftime, Boys’ High dominated the game with Thomas Bell hitting the target twice for his hat-trick.  Of note, captain of the day, Tom Warnock stepped up to take a penalty, as the team were keen for him to score at least once this season.  However, his shot didn’t trouble the keeper, which maintains Toms’ tally of zero goals.  Final score was 5-2 to Boys’ High.

The 1st XI would like to thank our team sponsors:  PlaceMakers Palmerston North and JG Residential.
