Gateway 2020
Year 12 student Ben Nixon is currently on placement through our Gateway Programme at Wellfield Lodge, a thoroughbread racing and breeding stables. Ben is the first young man to undertake the Equine Gateway Programme and to be placed at a stable; he is in his element and gaining valuable on the job experience for his future endeavours.
Application are now open for the 2021 Gateway Programme. If you will be a Year 12 or 13 student in 2021, you are eligible to apply.
This is the first time that the Gateway course will be open fully to Year 12 students. Further, as a Year 12 student in 2021 you can opt to take a 1 Year or 2 Year Gateway course.
To qualify for the Gateway course, you must meet the following criteria:
- Complete Application Form and submit to Mr Johnson
- B grade minimum for attitude on Term 4 report whilst in Year 12/11
- 85% minimum school attendance
- A pastoral history that has no serious issues on it
- Find own work placement prior to returning in Year 12/13
It is important to note that the course for both Year 12 and 13 is limited to 60 students total.
