TONGAN LANGUAGE WEEK

Uike lea Faka-tonga

Malo e lelei

Dean of Pasifika Students Mr Lifeimi Mafi, Year 9 student Suliasi Laumape and Year 12 students Sione Mausia and Nasi Manu welcome you to Tongan Language Week at Palmerston North Boys' High School.

The phrase or word of the week is "Tika atu" which is used as "mean as" or "good work".

We have over 100 Pasifika students at Palmy Boys', and our focus is creating a successful and loving environment where our Pasifika students are able to be themselves and flourish in the best way possible. As the African proverb says, it takes a village to raise a child, and the bonds between the Pasifika students are extremely strong and they are providing constant support and encouragement to one another in what is a strong PB family environment.
