1st XI Football v Whanganui Athletic Reserves - Saturday 12 September
PlaceMakers PNBHS 1st XI played Whanganui Athletic Reserves, losing 0 – 2. Boys’ High started reasonably well, dominating possession early in the match, but were unable to convert several early opportunities. Whanganui’s defence were very strong, restricting Boys’ Highs’ chances on goal. Both teams knocked the ball around and went into the break 0-0.
In the second half, a defensive error allowed Whanganui Athletic's striker to find the back of the net after a one-on-one with the keeper. Playing with more energy, Whanganui began to apply more pressure and were able to control the game to a greater degree. Soon after, a soft penalty in the box gifted Whanganui a second goal, earning them the win.
