CRICKET REPORT: PNBHS 1ST XI VS Palmerston CC – 17/10/20

Having been asked to field first, the PNBHS opening bowlers kept it tight, giving very little away. Backed up by good fielding, the 1st XI subdued the opposition batsmen to limit them to less than 100 by the half-way mark. After a slight drop in intensity during the middle part of the innings, the players raised the standards to take some late wickets and limit Palmerston to 200 for 9 from their 50 overs. The top bowlers were Bayley Latter with 2 for 27 from 10 and Regan Fleming, who took 3 for 46.

Opening batsmen, Lachie Braford and Josh Campbell set a steady platform for the 1st XI with a stand of 47, which allowed Campbell and Jaiden Meyer to set about the total. They both paced their innings well and with some support from the middle order, guided the team to a comfortable win. PNBHS scored 201 for 4 in 42.3 overs with Josh Campbell making 63 and Jaiden Meyer 68 not out to win by 6 wickets.
