PNBHS 1st XI Hockey report v New Plymouth Boys' High School
On Thursday, the 1st XI Hockey Team played their first traditional fixture of 2021 against old foes, New Plymouth Boys' High School.
The 1st XI dominated play in the first quarter, with Zach Carline opening their account with a well-worked goal. The second quarter saw a lapse in standards from the 1st XI that allowed New Plymouth to score. With the scores tied, PNBHS knew that they need to improve their gameplay. Blake Rhodes-Robinson and Hael Pritchard scored, giving the 1st XI a 3 – 1 lead at the half-time break.
The match evened up in the second half with both teams playing competitive hockey. New Plymouth was the first to score in the third quarter before Blake Rhodes-Robinson, and Connor Managh found the net. The final quarter remained an even affair, with Connor Managh scoring and New Plymouth Boys' High School having the last say in the match.
The final score was 6 – 3 to PNBHS.
