Congratulations to Year 13 student Nathaniel Leask who has just left PNBHS to begin employment leading to an apprenticeship with Greaves Electrical here in Palmerston North. Nathaniel is a Gateway student and has been undertaking his work placement with Greaves Electrical several efor a number of weeks.
Approximately 85% of all Gateway students at PNBHS are gaining employment/apprenticeships or continuing via UCOL in their chosen trade. If you are currently a Year 11 or Year 12 student who is thinking of doing Gateway in 2022 please note that the criteria to get on the course is as follows:
Complete an application form in Term 3
Hand completed form in by set date
Attendance for Year 11/12 must be 88% or above
Pastoral history in Year 11/12 of an acceptable standard
B+ average for attitude in Term 4 report in 2021
Find a suitable work placement that is not with immediate family i.e. you are not allowed to work with dad
Formal Year 11 and Year 12 meetings for Gateway 2022 will be held in the Speirs Centre early in Term 3, exact dates will be announced in the morning notices.
Gateway continues to prove very successful however, please be aware that places are limited.
