Crest to Crest
Today the Crest to Crest team completed Day One, Leg One: Set off from the Chateau towards Taranaki Falls and the Tama lakes before crossing the saddle and out to the Desert road via the Waihohonu hut. They completed it in 2 hours and 22 minutes, just short of the record time of 2 hours and 19 minutes.
Tomorrow the team head off for Day 2, Leg 2: Mountain bike from the Chateau Tongariro to Whakahoro. And Day 2, Leg 3: Canadian canoe from Whakahoro to John Coull Hut on the Whanganui River.
