Super 8 Golf 2022 – Springfield Golf Club, Rotorua
We took a record 19 players and 5 teams to compete at Super 8 Golf this year. The experience proved to be a good one, with pleasant weather and a challenging golf course. In this competition, the A team competes for the Super 8 Shield, with a 4-player team taking their 3 best scores in a gross competition over 3 rounds. The other 4 teams were in a Stableford competition. Scoring was tough, and the best round of the tournament was a 70 by Remy Early, he followed up the 70 with two 74s and an 8 over total for the 3 rounds. This made him the Lowest Gross, and he won this title for the 2nd year in succession. The rest of the A-team failed to back him up and we sadly finished in 4th place with Diego Rosson’s best round of 79, Isaac Grant (82), and Kaleb Fagan (80).
The Stableford competition proved to be far more competitive and there were many tired boys after the two rounds were completed on Monday. Best scores were an 83 from Jack Clarke, 89 Bryson Campbell, Liam O’Connor 87, Ryan Block 92, Aaron Christensen 88, Jackson Dreliozis 92, Lachlan Brownlie 92, Orlando Ratima 92, Hugo Early 93, Fletcher Lochhead 92, William Grieve 94, John Blackwell 93, Harvey Myers 102, Cullen Byrne 114, Josh Lindawalla 94.
