Congratulations to Year 11 student Alex Sharpe who has been selected in the New Zealand Junior (U21) Smallbore Shooting team. Last week Alex competed in the Target Shooting New Zealand Outdoor Nationals held here in Palmerston North. After shooting a personal best on Wednesday he finished in sixth place overall in the junior competition and was subsequently selected for the New Zealand team. That team shot on Saturday in a postal competition against teams from the UK and USA, although due to seasonal differences, they will not know how they got on until the Northern Hemisphere summer when the equivalent competitions have taken place.
