From Thursday to Sunday a group of 15 swimmers competed at the New Zealand Secondary Schools Swimming Championships in Auckland. It was a very successful Championships with the school winning the overall relay points competition for boys and coming in 3rd in the overall points for boys’ schools. There were a lot of personal best times throughout the team, along with a number of medal performances.

2nd 50m Breaststroke
3rd 100 Individual Medley, 200m Breaststroke and 50m Backstroke
Josh Carroll in the 17 and Over age group
2nd 100 Individual Medley, 200m Backstroke
3rd in the Senior Skins event
Alex Willis in the 17 and Over age group
2nd 200m Breaststroke, 100m Butterfly
3rd 50m Butterfly
The relay team performed with distinction, comfortably winning the overall points for which they received a trophy.
The 15 and under relay teams placed 2nd in the 4x50m Medley and 4x100m Freestyle relays and 3rd in the 4x50m Freestyle relay
The 16 and over team placed 2nd in the 4x100m Freestyle relay and 3rd in the 4x50m Medley relay.
The 8x50m Freestyle relay team finished 2nd.
Josh Carroll and Alex Willis finished 2nd in the 2x50m relay.
School records were broken by:
Alex Willis in the 16 and over 100 Freestyle which was followed by Josh Carroll breaking this same record 24 hours later.
Josh Carroll in the 16 and over age group broke 4 school records. The 100m freestyle (24 hours after Alex Willis broke the record), 50m Backstroke, 100m Backstroke (by 2 seconds), and the open 100m Individual Medley record.
