The first book review for 2025 was presented at assembly this morning. Mr Atkin reviewed Spud, written by John van de Ruit, which is available in the PNBHS Library. Set in 1990 South Africa with Apartheid crumbling and Nelson Mandela’s release from prison, Spud tells the story of thirteen-year-old John Milton, who is about to start his first year at an elite boys-only boarding school.
Spud is full of light-hearted humour, will appeal to a wide cross-section of young men and is available from the school library.
