Presentations were made in assembly this morning to young men who performed with distinction in Languages assessments in 2024.
NZALT Certificates of Excellence
The New Zealand Association of Language Teachers certificates of Excellence are awarded to Language students who gain an NCEA Excellence endorsement at Levels 1, 2 or 3, in their respective language.
Last year 6 students qualified:
- Edmund Brown gained Level 2 French endorsed with Excellence
- Andrew Buchan, Nakul Lakhani and Jeremy Wang gained Level 2 Japanese endorsed with Excellence
- Junhee Cho (Year 13 2024) and Gray Lourie gained Level 3 Japanese endorsed with Excellence
A huge congratulations to all six students who achieved exceptionally well in their respective NCEA languages courses last year.
DELF Scolaire Examinations
In August last year, seventeen of our Year 10, 11, 12 & 13 French students successfully sat the DELF Scolaire Examinations, administered by the local Alliance Française.
This is a challenging, internationally recognised and accredited four-levelled qualification that tests listening, reading, speaking and writing, with all answers written or spoken in French. It gives our students an extension to NCEA and a
qualification that could enable them to study in a French or Francophone university.
The official certificates recently arrived from France. All seventeen students procured results of a very high standard and are to be congratulated on accepting the challenge that these examinations offer.
