A team of nine swimmers travelled to Hamilton to represent our school at the New Zealand Secondary Schools (NZSS) Championships. Over six sessions of racing - spending more than 12 hours a day at the pool - the boys achieved nearly 50 personal bests across the meet.
As a team, we placed fifth overall in the Boys' Schools category. Relay highlights included a strong fifth-place finish in the 4x50m and 8x50m freestyle relays. Eric Wong and Sam Rowe delivered a standout performance in the 2x50m freestyle relay, finishing 5th after entering the event ranked ninth.
The swimmer of the meet for PNBHS was Eric Wong, who brought home five medals: Silver in the 50m Breaststroke and Bronze in the 100m Individual Medley, 100m Breaststroke, 50m Backstroke, and 50m Freestyle.
