Haramai e tama, e hine, i te ara i takato i a Tāne Mahuta
Kia whakangungua koe ki te rākau matarua
Nā Tū te Korikori
Nā Tū ka Mahuta
Nā Tū ka Maranga
Nā Tūmatauenga.
Palmerston North Boys’ High School had the honour of hosting a Mau Rākau grading on Saturday. This prestigious kaupapa welcomed groups from Wanganui, Porirua, Hastings, and Linton Army, all of whom contributed to a kaupapa to uphold traditions and to promote health, well-being and the art of Mau Rākau.
Students of Te Whare Tū Taua o Aotearoa were guided through a series of assessments, including fitness and endurance challenges, skill development and drill work in Mau Rākau, as well as free sparring. These elements provided a comprehensive evaluation of each student’s progress and commitment to the discipline.
We extend our sincere thanks to all those who travelled from near and far to participate, and to the whānau and supporters who helped make the day a success.
