ALL students require correct club uniform for the day.

The canteen will be operating at the track, but will be cash only.

Students are to provide their own sunscreen and should take their school cap. Ensure you wear your school shirt between events for protection from the sun.

The weather forecast for tomorrow indicates that we are likely to be able to run our Athletics Championships and Marching. We do appreciate that the ground conditions at the track for spectators will not be ideal and therefore are altering the arrival time at the venue for non-competitors. If your son is not competing in an event during the day he is not required at the track until 11.00am. However, should this not suit, your son is welcome to report to the track at an earlier time. For organisational purposes, we require all competitors to be at the athletics track by 9.00am. Further details relating to transport and travel arrangements are outlined below:

Buses to take bus students from North Street to the athletics track will run at 9.00am. Students are to remain in North Street when they arrive at school.

Non-bus students requiring transport to and from the track are to report to the Main Quad between 8.40am and 8.55am. If you go to the track on a bus, you may also return to school on a bus at the end of the day.

If you are transporting your son to the track by car, please travel via Summerhill Drive and access the athletics track from Old West Road. Please use the Events Car Park for drop-off and pick-up or if you are remaining as a spectator during the day. Please do not park on any grassed areas.

Students cycling are to follow the instructions of staff on duty. Single file. Do NOT go via Old West Road.

Students walking are to use footpaths only and are to leave early enough to be at the track by 9.00am. Excuses for lateness will not be accepted.

Students competing in the first events of the day and who require early transport are to be outside the Administration Block by 8.10am. Mr Sinclair will transport these young men in a minibus.

Note - The first events at 8.50am are:
Junior Pentathlon long jump
Senior Pentathlon javelin
Intermediate Pentathlon long jump
Senior Discus Championship
300m Hurdles

Please ensure that your son is prepared for the weather and has his raincoat with him. Even though the weather is likely to be overcast there is still the potential for sunburn. Please ensure your son also takes sunscreen and his school cap with him and remind him to wear his school shirt between events.

Given the busy nature of our school calendar and the significant organisation that goes into this event from our staff and from staff at Massey University it is our desire to go ahead with the Athletics Championships and Marching if at all possible. Any cancellation will be announced on the PNBHS Facebook page, Stratus and 92.2 More FM at 7.00am.
