3rd XI Cricket v Maw Haws - Saturday 1 December
The 3rd XI played Maw Haws and lost the toss and were asked to bat. A couple of quick wickets fell but a great rebuilding effort by Cooper Ryder and Josh Campbell had the 3rds at 72-2 at drinks. This break slowed the momentum and wickets fell in clumps over the next few overs. A 42 run stand between Viliami Vakapuna and Oscar McVerry set the platform for a launch and 34 runs were added in the last 4. 154-6 off 40 overs. Viliami Vakapuna 35 not out, Josh Campbell 28, Cooper Ryder 28. Maw Haws started slowly but had wickets in hand. At drinks they were 62-1. Three quick wickets fell after drinks and hopes were high. The new batsmen didn’t feel the pressure and some power hitting put the game back in Maw Haws favour and they got the total 5 wickets down in 35.5 overs.
