At assembly on Wednesday, a group of young men who have made significant contributions to our school and the wider community were recognised.

Prefect Brodie Zander was awarded the Prefect's Cup for Contribution to the Community.  This prize, donated by the 2014 Prefects, recognises a PNBHS student who has been significantly involved in providing service to the community.  Brodie has been instrumental in the organisation of a number of school-based service activities this year.

Three young men, John Hopcroft, Senuka Onel and Piripi Pinfold-Whanga, were presented with their Gold SVA (Student Volunteer Army) Service Award pins.  All three of these young men have made a significant contribution to the school and wider community.  The SVA Service Award recognises students in New Zealand schools who have logged specified hours in a wide range of community service activities - 5 hours for a Member Pin, 32 hours for a Bronze Award Pin, 250 Hours for a Silver Award Pin and 500 Hours for a Gold Award Pin.

All three of these young men have been involved in a wide range of school activities and service opportunities throughout their time at PNBHS, as well as a number of other service activities in the wider community.
