Super Eight and Te Piringa Kapa haka

Kai ngā Tautohito. Tēnā tātou

Kapa haka has played a significant part here at Palmerston North Boys’ High School. We have the Super Eight kapa haka who participate at the annual Super Eight Cultural Festival in May, and Te Piringa kapa haka who will be preparing for the Manawatū/Horowhenua Regional kapa haka competition in July.

If your son is interested in kapa haka, he must make contact with Paa Josh reagrding Super Eight kapa haka and Paa Taonga regarding Te Piringa.

Super Eight kapa haka practices are on Mondays and Wednesdays after roll call and during lunchtimes.

Te Piringa kapa haka practices are on Mondays and Thursdays from 4pm to 6pm at Freyberg High School. In addition to Te Piringa, they will also have ongoing wānanga or noho depending on tutors availability.

Te Piringa have an upcoming kapa haka wānanga this weekend. The wānanga will be at Girls' High's (Huia Centre) on the following dates and times:
Friday: 6pm-9pm
Saturday: 1pm -10pm
Sunday: 9am -1pm (if the tutors decide the kapa needs more practice).

Pā Taonga will be there as our teacher throughout the weekend. His e-mail address is mcgregort@pnbhs.school.nz for more information on Te Piringa.

Kia kaha tātou.
