Attendance by Year Level

Young men in Year 9 have, on average, the highest attendance so far this year at 94.6%, followed by Year 10 (94.2%), Year 11 and Year 13 (93.1%), and Year 12 (92.2%).

Overall, average attendance across the school is 93.5%.

Of our 1813 students:

  • 1,433 young men have a 90% or higher attendance rate

  • 1,015 young men have a 95% or higher attendance rate

  • 223 have maintained a 100% attendance record so far this year.

Attendance by Club

Murray Club students have the highest attendance rate among clubs at an average of 96.6%, followed by Albion (93.4%), Phoenix (93.3%), Gordon (93.1%), Kia Ora (92.9%), and Vernon (92.8%).

The top average attendance by Form Class at each year level:

Year 9 - 9BD - 96.5%

Year 10 - 10PA - 96.8%

Year 11 - 11PW - 97.1%

Year 12 - 12DT - 95.6%

Congratulations to year 9 student Leo Lawton, who won the Manawatū Secondary Schools Individual Chess Competition. He played six games against players from Feilding, Longburn, Freyberg and Dannevirke High Schools, winning all of his matches.

Orienteering

Last weekend several PNBHS students competed at the New Zealand Secondary Schools Orienteering Championships held in Auckland.  The team was without our top competitor, Jakob Abernethy, who is racing in Europe.

The highlight saw the Junior Boys Relay team of Tom Transom, Jimmy Linklater and Hugo Sherman finishing in third place.

Other results of note from the three-day event included Hugo Skerman gained second place in the individual Long Course  and 11th in the Individual Sprint event.
